Hanfparade 2026: Fair, Healthy, Enjoyable!

Hemp Parade 2026 – Fair, Healthy, Enjoyable!
On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the Hemp Parade celebrates its 30th anniversary! Since 1997, Germany’s largest demonstration has brought together people from politics, culture, activism, and business to advocate for the legalization of cannabis – as a raw material, medicine, and recreational drug.

Meeting Point: Alexanderplatz-Spandau Straße – near Neptune Fountain
Date: August 8, 2026

Under the motto “Fair, Healthy, Enjoyable!” the Hemp Parade 2026 will focus on three central aspects of cannabis:

Healthy – Cannabis as Medicine
For many people, cannabis is more than just a plant: It is a medicine. Whether for chronic pain, sleep disorders, or other illnesses – medical cannabis helps patients worldwide improve their quality of life.

At the Hemp Parade, doctors, researchers, and patients will share their experiences. Visitors can learn about the active ingredients THC, CBD, and CBG at the information booths, as well as learn more about current studies and political hurdles regarding access to medical cannabis.

The goal is to promote awareness and increase pressure on politicians to facilitate medical access.

Just – Fair Laws and Social Responsibility
A central core of the Hemp Parade is the demand for justly regulated laws. Despite growing social acceptance, cannabis is still overregulated in Germany – many consumers and small producers are criminalized.

The Hemp Parade makes it clear: legalization must be socially just. This means fair rules for patients, consumers, and producers, the protection of young people, and the promotion of small and sustainable businesses.

The demonstration, speeches, and information booths will provide information about the current state of legislation and showcase international examples of successful cannabis policies.

Enjoy – Responsible Consumption
Cannabis can also be a recreational drug – similar to wine, beer, or coffee – but with special requirements for education and responsibility. The Hemp Parade is committed to ensuring that consumption is decriminalized, safe, and conscious.
At the Hemp Parade, visitors can expect information about quality control, dosage, and consumer competence. At the same time, cultural aspects are celebrated: music, art, literature, and culinary hemp products showcase the versatility of the plant.

The schedule of the Hemp Parade 2026
The day begins at Alexanderplatz with the opening rally from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the central stage. Afterwards, a colorful demonstration march moves through Berlin, accompanied by parade floats promoting raw materials, medicine, and recreational drugs, thousands of participants, and international guests.

The march takes a circular route through the government district, past the Federal Ministry of Health, and ends at Alexanderplatz, where the closing rally takes place at the stage until 10 p.m. The event continues with speeches from activists, politicians, and international guests, as well as a wide range of music and artistic performances.

The 30th Hemp Parade – a milestone for the movement
The Hemp Parade 2026 is (not) a celebration, but a political statement: for full legalization, for social justice, for safe consumption options, and for the worldwide decriminalization of cannabis.

With the motto “Healthy – Fair – Enjoy,” the Hemp Parade sends a strong message: Cannabis is a plant used in many areas of our lives – as medicine, as a raw material, and as a recreational drug – and deserves recognition, education, and fair laws.

Press release on Hanfparade 2025

Berlin, August 6, 2025 – More than a quarter of a century ago, on August 23, 1997, the first Hemp Parade began in Berlin. Since then, there has been a Hemp Parade every year in Berlin, with the history of the Hemp Parade marked by various ups and downs.

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the Hemp Parade will begin again in Berlin, not only to celebrate this more than twenty-five-year-old tradition, but above all, as every year, to demonstrate for the complete legalization of cannabis as a raw material, medicine, and recreational drug. After twenty years of commitment, one of the Hemp Parade’s first demands has been met: cannabis as medicine has been legally permitted and regulated. And after more than a quarter of a century, partial decriminalization has been achieved, and the possession of small amounts for recreational use, as well as the cultivation of three plants, has been legalized. Demonstrating for freedom is worthwhile: for a future without repression.

Focus on Cannabis and Youth Protection
One of the main arguments of conservative critics for maintaining the cannabis ban was that legalization could send the “wrong message” to children and young people, who would then consume more cannabis due to the associated “trivialization.” However, these fears are clearly more than unfounded, as the current edition of a scientific survey by the Frankfurt Drug Department on student consumption behavior shows (Frankfurt.de: Teenagers consume less and less cannabis). The prevalence of cannabis consumption in 2024 was at an all-time low since the study began in 2002. The SCHULBUS study in Hamburg reached the same conclusion. Young people are consuming fewer and fewer substance-related drugs, but an increase in media consumption has been observed. The prevalence of young people’s use of alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis products is declining again overall. This has not only led to a reduction in the number of current users. 95 percent of the young people surveyed say they have never tried an illegal drug covered by the Narcotics Act (https://www.hamburg.de/politik-und-verwaltung/behoerden/bsfb/veroeffentlichungen/pressemeldungen/schulbus-studie-1083056).

Even the social debate surrounding the introduction of the Narcotics Act and the decriminalization of personal cannabis use for adults has apparently not changed the downward trend that had already begun. In light of the evaluation of the Narcotics Act, including with regard to youth protection, these scientific findings are good news for all cannabis enthusiasts.

Focus on Telemedicine
Since April 1, 2024, medical cannabis is no longer subject to the Narcotics Act (BtmG). This has significantly simplified access to treatment with medical cannabis for patients and physicians alike. For many indications, they can now consider medical cannabis as a treatment option, as the extremely high documentation requirements, medical-legal hurdles, and logistical challenges have been significantly reduced. The processing and provision of medical cannabis to patients has also been simplified in specialized German pharmacies, ensuring a comprehensive, reliable supply of this form of therapy. Most importantly, patients can now undergo the entire cannabis therapy process completely digitally. This has contributed significantly to the increased acceptance of this form of treatment among the population. Above all, patients can now easily obtain certified cannabis with a clear indication of the THC and CBD content and do not have to fear that the cannabis they purchase is contaminated with synthetic cannabinoids, as is sometimes the case with off-the-shelf products. In fact, it must be said that no one has pulled more people off the black market than the large telemedicine providers, which corresponds to a central goal and purpose of the Cannabis Act.

The program
Saturday, August 9, 2025, 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM: The opening event begins at 12:00 PM at Alexanderplatz in Berlin – Spandauer Straße, near the Neptune Fountain. This event lasts until 3:00 PM, after which the demonstration procession begins through the city center. The Hemp Parade moves along Unter den Linden, through the government district, past the main train station to the Ministry of Health and the headquarters of the Federal Government’s Drug Commissioner. Then it returns to Spandauer Straße. As soon as the procession returns to the demonstration area on Spandauer Straße, around 6:00 PM, the stage program for the closing rally begins. The Hemp Parade ends at 10:00 PM.

Kunstfehler

Music with attitude, corners and surprises

The rap duo Kunstfehler brings a breath of fresh air to the Hanfparade – political, idiosyncratic and anything but conformist. Punk at heart, full of ideas in their heads and with a sound that cannot be pigeonholed or pigeonholed into playlists. Their music moves between poppy catchiness and quirky experimentation – always exactly where it makes sense or is simply fun.

Kunstfehler do not make music for quick consumption. Their ‘Trojan pop songs’ often only unfold their effect on the second or third listen – but then with all the more force. The lyrics are biting, clever and always clear in their attitude. Instead of focussing on scene affiliation, they focus on substance and want to shake people up instead of lulling them to sleep.

Whether club show or festival stage: Kunstfehler deliver – raw, honest and with energy. They do everything themselves, from the first idea to the last note – and you can hear that. If you’re looking for music with ambition and attitude, you’ve come to the right place.

So: open your eyes and ears for Kunstfehler – uncomfortable, funny, political, real. And absolutely fitting for the Hanfparade!
